This 4kg (8.85 lb) bag emphasizes a preservative-free formulation, aiming for high digestibility and wholesome nutrition. The "Super Premium" designation suggests a commitment to higher-quality ingredients intended to support overall health, from skin and coat to digestive function. As a diet centered on chicken, it provides a classic, reliable source of protein that is both palatable and beneficial for maintaining lean muscle mass in adult dogs. This particular formula is presented as an all-encompassing solution for households with various dog breeds, simplifying feeding time without compromising on a quality foundation for their daily dietary requirements.

  • The premium price point creates very high expectations for ingredient sourcing and formulation that may be difficult to verify.

Best for

This food is best suited for adult dogs of any breed whose owners prioritize a preservative-free, chicken-based diet and are willing to invest in a super-premium product. Its all-breed nature makes it a convenient choice for homes with multiple dogs of varying sizes.

Feeding guide

Feeding amounts can vary significantly based on a dog's age, breed, metabolism, and activity level. As a general guideline, most adult dogs require approximately 1/3 to 1/2 cup of dry food per 10 pounds of body weight per day. This total amount should be split into two separate meals. Always have fresh, clean water available. It is critical to consult the specific feeding chart on the product packaging for precise measurements and adjust as needed to maintain a healthy body condition.

Frequently asked questions

Is this food suitable for a puppy?

No, this specific Drools Focus formula is explicitly labeled for adult dogs. Puppies have different nutritional requirements for growth and development, including higher levels of protein, fat, and specific minerals like calcium. You should look for a food specifically formulated for puppies or 'all life stages'.

What does 'Super Premium' mean?

The term 'Super Premium' is a marketing classification rather than a regulated, official standard like AAFCO guidelines. Generally, brands use it to indicate that the product contains higher-quality, more digestible ingredients, a primary meat source, and enhanced vitamin and mineral packs compared to their standard or 'economy' lines. However, the exact meaning varies by brand.

My dog has a sensitive stomach. Is this a good choice?

A chicken and rice formula is often a good starting point for dogs, but sensitivity can be very individual. While this food is preservative-free, which can be a plus, some dogs have sensitivities to chicken itself. Without a full ingredient list, it's difficult to say for sure. If your dog has known food allergies, it's best to consult your vet and review the full ingredient panel on the bag before purchasing.

Is this a grain-free dog food?

The product title does not specify whether the food is grain-free or grain-inclusive. Many chicken-based dry foods use grains like rice or corn as carbohydrate sources. To determine if this food contains grains, you would need to examine the complete ingredient list on the packaging.

Why is this food so much more expensive than other brands?

The price of $18.07/lb is exceptionally high. This cost likely reflects the 'Super Premium' branding, the use of a preservative-free recipe, ingredient sourcing, import costs (if applicable), and brand positioning. It is priced significantly above the average for its category, indicating it's a luxury or specialty item.

Is a 4kg bag a good value?

A 4kg (8.85 lb) bag is a medium size, often good for owners who want to try a new food without committing to a very large bag, or for those with smaller dogs. In terms of value, buying in larger quantities almost always results in a lower price-per-pound. However, given this product's very high base price, even a larger bag is likely to remain a premium-priced option.
