Overview

This Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete bundle offers a canine culinary tour with three distinct, high-protein recipes: a classic Chicken, a hearty Beef, and a novel Lamb & Venison formula. Each bag weighs 4 lbs (64 oz), providing owners with a fantastic opportunity to discover their dog's preferred taste or to implement a rotational feeding strategy without committing to large quantities of a single flavor. Aimed at owners who prioritize premium ingredients and air-dried preparation, this variety pack introduces a diverse range of animal proteins. This method of slow cooking and air-drying is designed to preserve the nutritional integrity of the ingredients, offering a convenient alternative to raw feeding without the typical processing intensity of conventional high-heat kibble. The "Superfood Complete" name suggests these recipes are fortified with additional nutrients beyond the primary proteins, targeting whole-body wellness for adult dogs of various sizes and breeds.

Best for

The Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete bundle is best suited for discerning dog owners who are committed to a rotational, high-protein feeding philosophy and are willing to invest a significant premium for what is marketed as a minimally processed, air-dried food. It is an excellent choice for owners of picky dogs, as the variety allows them to identify a favorite flavor profile, or for those who want to provide a diverse range of nutrients that comes from feeding different animal sources.

Feeding guide

As a general guideline for air-dried dog food, which is often more nutrient-dense than typical kibble, start with a conservative amount. Most adult dogs may require approximately 1/2 to 2/3 of a cup per 20 lbs of body weight per day. This total amount should be split into two meals. Always monitor your dog's body condition and energy levels, and adjust the portion size accordingly. For the most accurate feeding amounts, consult the official chart on the Badlands Ranch packaging, as this will be tailored to their specific formulas.

Ingredients & nutrition note

The specific ingredients and guaranteed analysis for the Badlands Ranch Chicken, Beef, and Lamb & Venison recipes are not provided in the title. However, foods centered on premium proteins like these typically feature the named meat as the first ingredient. "Superfood" formulas often include fruits, vegetables, and other botanicals to provide a broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. We strongly recommend reviewing the full ingredient panel on the packaging to ensure it aligns with your dog's specific dietary needs and to check for any potential allergens.

Price comparison

When evaluating the cost of this bundle, it's important to see where it lands in the broader market. Our analysis of 158 other small-bag dry dog foods shows a median price-per-pound of around $8, with an average of $29.07. At its current price of $68.62 per pound, the Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete bundle is positioned at the absolute top-tier of the premium market, costing significantly more than both the median and the average price for products in this category. This reflects its positioning as a specialized, air-dried superfood product rather than a conventional kibble.

Frequently asked questions

What is air-dried dog food?

Air-dried dog food is a type of food that is cooked slowly at low temperatures to gently remove moisture, preserving the raw ingredients' natural nutrients. It's considered a less processed alternative to traditional kibble and offers the nutritional benefits of raw food with the convenience of dry food.

Is a rotational diet good for dogs?

For many dogs, yes. Rotational feeding, or switching between different protein sources, can help create a more balanced diet over time, potentially reduce the risk of developing food sensitivities, and keep mealtime interesting for picky eaters. This bundle is specifically designed to facilitate such a diet.

Is this bundle suitable for a puppy?

The product title does not specify a life stage, which typically means it is formulated for adult maintenance. Puppies have unique, demanding nutritional requirements for growth and development. You should always consult your veterinarian and check the packaging for an AAFCO statement confirming it is suitable for 'all life stages' or 'growth' before feeding it to a puppy.

Why is this food so expensive?

The high price point is likely due to several factors: the use of multiple premium proteins like lamb and venison, the specialized air-drying manufacturing process which is more costly than extrusion, and the 'superfood' ingredients. Its price is substantially higher than the average for dry dog foods, placing it in the ultra-premium category.

Can I buy just one flavor instead of the bundle?

This specific product is a three-flavor bundle. While Badlands Ranch likely sells the chicken, beef, and lamb/venison recipes individually, this bundled offering is for customers looking to purchase all three at once. Check our site for listings of the individual bags.

How do I store air-dried dog food?

Like most dry dog foods, it should be stored in a cool, dry place. To maintain maximum freshness, it's best to keep the food in its original bag and squeeze out excess air before sealing. You can place the bag inside an airtight container for extra protection against pests and humidity.
